Nightingale Social Welfare Society is an FCRA, 80G, 12A compliant Indian NGO based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, under the Registrar of Societies Hyderabad, with Regd No. 234/2005. With other like-minded organizations, Nightingale envisions addressing and working to remove the vulnerabilities of the marginalised communities in Urban India. These sectoral vulnerabilities hold a massive population below the poverty line and meagre-earning people, mostly belonging to the scheduled castes and local communities. These communities have no social entitlements, proper education, regular income, or even three meals daily.
As an NGO, Nightingale works towards the community's children who share this vulnerability with their parents/guardians since birth and remain in the confines of the communities with no access to education or any opportunity to grow. Currently, through work shared with another Indian NGO, Nightingale supports a community learning center in the Bhojagutta community - Hyderabad to provide a day-care facility for children to receive nutritious food during the day, education, social learning and educator support while their parents receive awareness on accessing the social entitlements, child care, safety mechanisms.
“Empower the suppressed community, particularly women and children by making them to involve and participate towards sustainable development process”.
"To educate, to organize and to empower people to actively participate in the fields of education, socio economic, legal, health care and self-governance by involving them in self-planned development activities in most backward areas”
